Your History is Coming to Life!

The Historic 1916 Palm Beach Courthouse is an architectural treasure. Its neo-classical style gives it an important appearance which adds to the modern architecture of downtown West Palm Beach. When the courthouse was built in 1916, it cost over $160,000 to complete. In 2002 the Board of County Commisioners decided to save the historic courthouse and rescue it from the 1970s brick wrap-around that encased the old building. The cost to completely restore the courthouse was over $18 million. The restored 1916 courthouse now houses county offices, the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum, and the Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
