Terms and Conditions
The Historical Society of Palm Beach Beach County (“HSPBC”) has created and maintains www.historicalsocietypbc.org (the “Web site”) in support of its mission to inspire and empower Floridians to make the past a meaningful part of their contemporary lives. Access to and use of this Web site is subject to the following terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) and all applicable laws. By accessing and browsing the Web site, you accept, without limitation or qualification, the Terms and Conditions and other notices, and acknowledge full and complete acceptance of these terms.

Access to and use of the HSPBC’s image and text files and data on this Web site are subject to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. The text, images, and data on the Web site are protected by copyright and may be subject to other restrictions as well. The HSPBC and relevant third parties retain all rights, including copyright, in data, images, audio and video clips, software, documentation, text, and other information contained in these files (collectively, the “Materials”). Users may download Materials subject to the preceding and following Terms and Conditions, and subject to any additional terms or restrictions applicable to the individual file or program, provided all copyright and other proprietary notices contained on the Materials are retained.

2. The Materials are made available for use without permission only for personal or research use, or for fair use as defined in United States copyright laws. The user is responsible for securing any required third party permission, including, without limitation, permissions pertaining to copyright or other intellectual property rights for the proposed use of images owned or controlled by the HSPBC. The HSPBC makes no warranties or representations and assumes no responsibility whatsoever for any claims against the applicant or the HSPBC by artist, their agents, estates or by any parties in connection with the reproduction of items on the Web site. The user agrees to indemnify the HSPBC and hold it harmless against any and all such claims, including copyright infringement claims, royalty or fee demand and /or actions, including the cost thereof, and invasions of privacy arising as a result of the user’s reproductions of items on the Web site. Any and all royalty payments or other requirements specified by the copyright owner of such a work must be paid or honored by the publishers or agent printing from users must cite the author/artist and source of this Material as they would material from any printed or other work, and the citation should include the URL “www.historicalsocietypbc.org” in addition to all copyright and other proprietary notices contained on the Materials. The HSPBC adheres to the highest ethical standards in gathering, using, and safeguarding personal information submitted via this Web site. The HSPBC does not rent, sell, or exchange information submitted via this Web site, and use of such information is restricted to the HSPBC for marketing purposes. The HSPBC may contact you to provide information about the HSPBC activities, programs, membership, development, and other opportunities, products, and special events that may interest you. We disclose only in aggregate form our statistical analyses or demographics of users to third parties, such as advertisers, potential advertisers, or persons involved in product development or manufacturing.

Visitors to this Web site who do not wish to have their personally identifiable information collected are asked to not provide such information.

The HSPBC makes every effort to ensure that all transactions occurring on its Web site will be secure. When credit card information is submitted via the Internet to the HSPBC’s site, it is encrypted using "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) encryption. These cookies keep track of basic information about you to facilitate future purchases. If you reject cookies, you will have to re-enter this information the next time you visit our site. The HSPBC cookies will not be shared with third parties.

Any party wishing to use any the HSPBC Materials from the Web site for any purpose other than the limited purposes identified above must request and receive prior written approval from the HSPBC. Refund Policy
 

Cancellation by Historical Society of Palm Beach County – Program and/or Event
• The Historical Society of Palm Beach County (HSPBC) reserves the right to cancel a class/event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the program/event non-viable.
o If the Historical Society of Palm Beach County cancels a program/event for low attendance, registrants will be offered a full refund.
• HSPBC outdoor events are rain or shine and refunds will not be given for in-climate weather.
• Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of a program/event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.


Cancellation by Participant – Program and/or Event
If you wish to cancel your registration or apply for a credit to another event, you can contact us at 561-832-4164 or info@historicalsocietypbc.org. The following policies and timeline apply.
• For a full refund or credit transfer, requests must be submitted at least 10 business days prior.
• If you notify us after the 10 business day mark, a full refund may not be offered and is under the discretion of the Director of Special Events. An administration fee may apply, due to the limited availability and commitment of resources.
• Once a program begins, we cannot make any adjustments or offer any credits.
• Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend a class/event.
• Cancellations will be accepted via phone or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. It is the registrant's responsibility to ensure the cancellation is received and approved within the deadline.
• All refund requests must be made by the attendee, guardian or credit card holder.
• Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number.
• Refunds less than $100 will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment. Refunds in excess of $100 will be made by check and take 7-10 business days to be issued.

Cancellation by Participant for Membership
• All memberships are non-transferable, non-refundable, and are only valid for one household.
• Special cases may be accepted under the discretion of the Membership Associate.
• If at any point in time a member abuses their membership privileges or imposes threatening behavior towards guests, staff, exhibits or property, HSPBC reserves the right to revoke the membership with or without refund.

Security Policy

HSPBC uses industry-standard encryption technology, which is among the best software available to safeguard online transactions.This technology encodes your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, as it travels over the Internet so that all transactions are secure.
